‘Music Man’ Shows Off Musical Diversity
KUALA LUMPUR: American-born singer-songwriter Wang Lee Hom brought the house down with a top-notch peformance at his “Music Man Live in Malaysia” concert at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium on Saturday night. Over 25,000 fans packed the stadium, singing along to his Mandapop hits.Fans at the concert - aptly named “Music Man” - were treated to a diversity of musical genres such as pop, R&B, rock, jazz and even traditional Chinese music. Wang, who sang a total of 28 songs, wowed the crowds with his musical talent as he showcased his skills on the piano, guitar, violin and drums. The highlight of the concert came when Wang “morphed” into his alter ego “Music Man” by brandishing his prized possession - the custom-made G-Clef dragon-shaped electric guitar. The crowd went wild as he released his inner rock star with fast, electrifying numbers such as What’s Rock with Rock, Heroes of Earth, and Dirty Love. The 33-year-old music star then had fans singing along to his other signature tunes such as Wei Yi (The One and Only), Ai Ni Deng Yu Ai Zi Ji (Loving You Means Loving Me), Kiss Goodbye and others. Wang also took the opportunity to show off some of his dance routines, which had the crowds screaming for more at the end of the three-hour concert The concert was organised by Galaxy and supported by Tourism Malaysia.
